Awesome gift from the Daytime Office !
Not wanting to make a 'pitty call', I've been trying to keep this a secret.
Unfortunately I've been struck with a Pneumonia since may 6th.
Having experienced a flu with over 40.5 °C (104.9 F),
I can luckily say that (after medication) things are brightening up !

Geekin' Weekend Project
I am always looking out on upgrading the HamsterTracker™-Dream Machine.
Scalable Link Interface logo
When I bought it (as a kit) I had expansion on my mind.


So when I found a second graphics card for 59% of the original price of the first card,
I just had to order it.


My motherboard is SLI capable as well as this graphic card.
SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface; this does a lot when processing video data.


Depending on the application (playing a DVD or playing a game for instance),
these graphic cards work together to produce the graphics.
This technology can work in several ways;
either a graphic card does the processing of a part of the screen
(the first graphic card processes the top of the screen,
while the second card does it's thing for the bottom),
OR these cards can render different frames (individual screens) at the same time.
The first card renders the first frame, while the second is rendering the second frame,
after which the first card will render the third frame etc. etc.


This generally results in higher frame rates; hence BETTER GRAPHICS.

Your local pet store can and will advise you on this, if you're in doubt !

Vacation Time Gaming Fun
I am not much of a gamer (disregarding Web-Sudoku),
Although I do love the Myst type of gaming:
[ that's a point and click adventure on which you have to solve puzzles along the way. ]


Unfortunately the latest versions (IV & V) is not available here in the Netherlands;
So I had to look out for other software to really push the HamsterTracker™-Dream Machine through it's paces.


I decided on the following (new release) from the same company as Myst,
to check out how wonderfull the graphics really are.


Gaming fun at the HamsterTracker-Main Office
" Understandingly this is an R-rated game here " - HamsterTracker™-Warning Dept.

This game uses the latest in software engineering,
to produce the most spectacular environments. Under VISTA it uses DirectX 10,
that produces even more detail (water splashes seem to be spectacular when running on VISTA).


Although we are not running VISTA,
so we have to comply with the 'measely' DirectX 9.0c:


The graphics are still so captivating,
and the gameplay is relatively easy, for a starting gamer like me:
that it got me hooked:


Here's 'Me' (Altaïr), 3 hours in the game:

After those three hours of gameplay,
my arms didn't really like the combination of Mouse & Keyboard.


So we over-indulged a bit on buying the brand new, awesome,
XBox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows

Because the game-controller is wireless,
AND I can defer the output of the computer to my TV,
to luxuriously sit in my couch to play this addictive game.


Unfortunately the 'Rumble' isn't supported by the game when using a Wireless Game Controller,
still this is a huge improvement on playability...

Vacation time fun with Lucy
These last two days where wonderfully sunny (as opposed to today).
So I met up with friends on a sunny terras.
Good thing we did; because Long time HamsterTracker™-Supporter SANDRA lended us her camera,
to put it through some serious HamsterTracker™-Testing:

With all the nice emails we've been getting,
I was looking for a way to process it a bit quicker.


You'll probably be familiar with a QWERTY- or AZERTY- (used a lot in Belgium) Keyboard...

Today I removed the Laptop keyboard,
to do some modding....
