Lucy's bedroom-clean aftermath
Lucy's bedroom was cleaned by the HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept.
and as soon as the cleaned bedroom was available
(I am fortunate enough to have the whole extention,
including the tubes and 'bubble', in two sets.
This allows the HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept. to prepare the cleaned
room (incl. some fresh pillow-treats) in advance,
enabeling a quick switch.)


When Lucy then inspects her cleaned bedroom,
the HamsterTracker™-Diet Dept. takes control;
they fill up the food bowl and add a new Kracker.


It didn't take long for Lucy to start working;
hoarding and hoarding,
then returning to her bedroom:

Video of Lucy checkin' out her "Ka-Bob"
Yesterday (See Below), a package was opened which
contained a new treat for Lucy.


So I sat near Lucy's cage, with the camera set to Video,
to try to film Lucy checking it out for the first time.


Today I edited the (three) scenes I shot,
only to be pleasantly surprised by the performance of
the HamsterTracker™-Dream-Machine (the new server).


Not only was I able to process and render the movie (transitions/captions) in real time without delays,
the 200+Mb movie rendered within two minutes to a 16 Mb .wmv file.


I also learned that I should have used a tripod,
although that doesn't give you the flexibility,
it will provide a more steady shot.

(so) I used the cage in the middle of this video as a tripod stand.


Another reminder is: not to laugh while shooting video WITH sound...
It really sounds silly when editing...

( NOT going for an Edison-, Oscar- or Grammy-Award here ; )

Remember August 6, 2006 ?
That was the day when Mr. Jan and Mr. Jop made some wonderfull coaster drawings for Lucy.


Appearantly Mr. Jan and his uncle should have been walking the dog,
along with the 'dog-walk-posse',
but being in the neighbourhood and all, Mr. Jan wanted to meet Lucy in person.


So I gave Mr. Jan the ultimate tour...
even letting him stand on the table,
to enable a close look at Lucy's Meditation-room.

Geekin' Seasons holiday project: Fixin' the LCD (part 1)
You might already know that the HamsterTracker™-Server supplies data for
the Point of Sale Display.

The HamsterTracker™-Hardware is also equipped with a LCD-display,
which displays todays treadmill distance,
as well as the total distance.

This enables a quick glance of Lucy's total statistics,
without having to activate the HamsterTracker™-monitor and looking it up.

We are hoping to save energy this way.

Unfortunately, the connector was a bit dodgy from the start,
as well as it's malfunction after the upgrade to the new HamsterTracker™-Server.

We've TOTALLY missed Lucy's 1 liter of water drinking milestone!

It took Lucy 168 days to drink that one liter of water !

Today Santa made a surprise visit at the Daytime-Office!
How cool is that?
Santa explained that he wanted to make sure we got his gift(s),
before the majority went on holiday for the rest of the year.
He also explained that he would not normally do this,
but it does save him time, you know, working globally and all.

Geekin' the Scanner-Fix
The HamsterTracker™-Geek dept. hasn't been sitting still.


There is a broken HamsterTracker™-scanner to fix.


As it seemed I did shove USB plug in it, wreckin' it, along the way,
simply because I didn't use the supplied cable.


Sounds fair...
But on HamsterTracker™-account: we do have a lot of those USB cables!

Here's the fix:

Because Lucy was way way in dream-land,
we opted for some drastic measures:
