When giving fresh food to Lucy,
unless it's a tiny bit, she eats right away,
her bedroom is cleaned after a day or two, to prevent any left overs spoiling.


Because the Wood Savings where running low,
I went to the Pet Shop today.
this time NOT overindulding:


Fresh new woodshavings for Lucy.

Hamster litter (for in her toilet),

Woodshavings need some preparations


What I do is open the package in a big box,
break up all shavings...

Then put a lid on the box, and give it a good shake,
and some (controlled) bangs on the floor.


This will move the fine sawdust (which is unfortunately always there),
to move to the bottom of the box.

So if you only scoop from the top...
It should (theoritically) be less dusty, right ?


While working on this,
Lucy had a bathroom break.


Stopping her half way,
I told her, her bedroom is going to be cleaned tonight...

Here's an easy recipe when in a hurry:

You'll need:
Cheese slicer.
Apple corer,
and Knife,

as well as:

Slice of the end of a bread,
Apple,
and Gouda cheese.

Cut out to rolls,
by cutting out four round pieces of bread,
using apple corer.

(This is a bit tricky, but with a bit of patience you'll manage)

Here's how you use a (typical Dutch) cheese slicer:
put on and carefully draw it towards you...

I hope you are not as Foolish as me,
by knocking over your drink over your keyboard,
thereby rendering it useless...

Lot's of beeps where comming from the computer, after it happened.
So I disconnected it an hoped that after drying all would be ok.

Ofcourse it wasn't; when ever I pressed '1' the screen showed '~1'.
Pressing <Ctrl> resulted into that familliar crazy beeping.

So the HamsterTracker™-Geek Department,
opened the keyboard to clean it...

Geeking Weekend Project!
This weekend (up until today and still going on) project was the POS-Display
(POS = Point of Sale); which is now dubbed internally as the HamsterTracker™-Clock-project.


In an attempt to save some time in the morning,
I thought it would be cool for the HamsterTracker™-Clock to show the latest rating.
Figuring if the clock shows it every minute, then there's no need to check the webpage.


I needed a brush up on my PHP-Programming and SQL query language knowledge,
to develop private PHP-(programmed)-Page to supply the latest data (using SQL),
for the HamsterTracker™-Clock to retrieve.


Then, ofcourse, the HamsterTracker™-Clock software also
needed some serious enhancements.

So I had the chance to visit a country
that is not a household name in tourism.
Normally foreigners go there for working,

But there are nice places to see and friendly people to meet.

While wandering around, photographing like crazy,
I did use one of the literally hundreds of FREE internet access points!

It's great smelling hamsterfood,
that has many, many different ingredients.


Today scoop contained a whole peanut,
reason for me, to stick around a little longer;

Funky Geekin' Weekend project
Regular visitors know that I am the proud owner
of a new sound card.


Although I installed it 12 days ago,
just this weekend I did the final thing.

We picked the one furthest away from it (for better cooling-flow or whatever :-)"

We forgot to hook up the in front of the computer audio connectors !


That's pretty stupid,
considering,
that was one of the reasons to buy this card !

So this weekend we opened up the Dream-Machine again:

The cable that came with the computer casing has two connectors,
one marked AC 97 (the WRONG one),
and the other HD Audio.


It didn't break anything while hooking up the 'wrong' one.
While using this connector, the soundcard 'thought' I was only using headphones (=front connector).


Using the other connector,
this signal is processed by actually plugging in a headphone !

COOL (!!!) because this behaviour can be altered by the software !
(you can (optionally) automatically shut down the external speakers,
when plugging in your head-set)

Then the patching of all the cables re-started,
AGAIN !

So I played some nice relaxing loungy sounds
and then I then offered Lucy my head-set:

It al now functions as it should !
together with Lucy's approval
