Today, I visited the Hamster-Adoption Center;
They had (just one) very cute (female) hamster up for adoption.
I was all 'Ooooh and Aaaah'-ing when looking at her.
When I was noticed by two ladies,
both with baby buggies,
filled with Dog/Cat-chow...
Because of their 'Ooooh and Aaaah'-ing,
I was thinking that they where captivated by that little hammie, as I was,
but, as it seemed,
they where 'Ooooh and Aaaah'-ing ME on my 'Let's meet a Hamster' reactions!
Very very nice 'fcourse but then...
Then I read the hamster's medical record,
I noticed she was three months of age.
This was the decision moment for me...
I do want a 6 weeks old hammie,
not a hammie that's been woken,
for every customer who want's to see her not sleeping...
for more than 6 weeks
Also I distingtly remember calling out Lucy
when I met Lucy 2.0,
which I didn't do today....
So I drove home, all alone!
[ If a hammie was in there,
I would have used a lid,
this photograph is here for the dramatic effect! ]
It DID give me a chance to work on my
'Welcome Lucy 3.0 - speech
for Lucy when we drive home!
This was a hard decision, hard to leave the hamster (un-adopted) behind,
hard for having to have to wait at least a week!
Fortunately Albert Heijn currently have Hamster Weeks ;-)
