Today, when I wanted to remove the 'second-floor' from Lucy's cage,
( which she has never used once )
when I caught Lucy, out of her bedroom:
" ... Nibble ... " - Lucy
" ... 'Nother ... Nibble ... " - Lucy
Meanwhile, I removed the unused floor,
from Lucy's cage.
[ I know it's unused because the wallnut I put up there,
was still there; a.k.a. the HamsterTracker™-Have You Been There Sensor ]
With this floor removed,
it allowed this following photograph :
I do use my diswasher (running it's gentlest program),
to clean all tubing and other cage stuff.
[I had accidently put one tube in the dishwasher,
only to find it perfectly cleaned after the dishes where done !!! ]
I've learned that not ALL can be put in this wonderfull machine...
Because I would normally never deprive Lucy of her treadmill for too long.
I used to wash the treadmill by hand, carefully not trying to scratch
the painted 'barcode' that is used by the HamsterTracker™-Treadmill sensor ...
" You've guessed it !
Black paint was ruined ... " - Mathijs
" Fortunately I still do have the original materials,
to correct the problem ... " - Mathijs
" There is a hidden message in the black parts ...
it spells: 'L' 'u' 'c' 'y' !!! " - Mathijs
I can get so carried away sometimes :-)
" I've also enlarged Lucy's (next and new) bedroom entrance ... " - Mathijs
" Not that Lucy has noticed anything ...
She is Lounging it to tha MAX !!! " - Mathijs
Wonderfull sender-inner Marion is in the progress of
introducing her amazingly fun family...
A few days ago, this exciting entry was dropped in the HamsterTracker™-Mailbox:
" We took Lucy (3) out for a walk and she posed with Rhiannon and her boyfriend Mark " - Marion
" ... and Prince (and?)*** our GSD... " - Marion
***(we think the other dog is named GSD :) that's why I added the (and?) thing ...
So I re-adjusted my camera,
to shoot this following photograph,
which is cropped (to it's original resolution) :
Close Up :
" Doesn't this look like gnome-feet ??? " - Mathijs
From the fairytale, starring our princess !
While writing this blog entry, we got this wonderfull email from Jenny (From the UK) :
( Jenny and I where discussing camera's, when this came in ... )
" Here's a photo of Nessie viewing the HamsterTracker.com website.
She is a daily addict on it
and is trying to learn all the Short-Cut keys on my keyboard,
so she can become a whiz-kid. " - Jenny
Extreme HamsterTracker™-Shouts to Nessie and Jenny !!!
Yesterday was all about Lucy...
Being worried about her size together with the emails and guestbook entries,
I took Lucy to the vet today, for a checkup ...
" Lucy is waiting patiently on her turn ... " - Mathijs
Then Lucy3.0 got examined by the vet.
Lucy was pretty cool during this examination,
I held my hand near her face,
in the hope the familiar smell would keep her calm ...
That did help !
As it seems Lucy is suffering from either a cyst or cancer.
Unfortunately operating on a 2+ year old hamster is very very risky.
And sadly there is no medication...
The vet suggested that I'd get a larger cage for Lucy.
Giving her as much room as possible,
without her having to squeeze through tubing.
While the vet was explaining all this,
Lucy kept us three (the vet and his assistant and myself) busy by wandering around,
explorin' the examination desk...
The vet noted that he found Lucy very lively and alert !
After I put Lucy back in her cage,
I shot this following photograph:
" Assistant on the left, Lucy in the middle, Vet on the right ...
Yes, I did bring an Extreme HamsterTrackin'-Card for them as a gift. " - Mathijs
So I ordered the HamsterTracker™-Real Estate Dept.
to find bigger housing for our princess:
" Here's what they came up with !
Pretty big, and complete ... " - Mathijs
" Here I made the switch ... Lucy in her new home ! " - Mathijs
" Dude, what's this ??? " - Lucy
" Ah... the Bathroom ... " - Lucy
" Xcuse me for a minute ... " - Lucy
" I am glad you didn't forget my favorite toy, Dude ! " - Lucy
Not long after, Lucy retired to her bedroom.
Having been through a lot today...
A drive in the car ...
The vet ...
And a new home ...
" It DOES take getting used to, even for us ! " - Mathijs
p.s.:
Today is our 2 year aniversary !
And what a joyfull time is has been !!!
Looking forward to celibrate our 3rd year, dear Lucy !!!
" May I make a small suggestion for Lucy's new box house?
You should cut out the bottom of it,
leaving it to be more of an "igloo".
That way,
in case Lucy pees in it,
you can reuse it! " - Annie
Annie inspired us with the following idea:
" This CD-ROM casing COULD do the trick ! " - Mathijs
" Buildin'/Designin' a front door ... " - Mathijs
" This should suit Lucy perfectly :-) " - Mathijs
" Looks pretty great doesn't it ? " - Mathijs
Meanwhile Lucy isn't aware ...
" Dude, I love this new bedroom ... " - Lucy
" There is sooo much to explore ... " - Lucy
" The box that used to hold the heart of the HamsterTracker™-Server,
is now holding the heart of HamsterTracker.com " - Mathijs
How awesome !
" I am sorry, but now I need a bathroom break, Dude ...
Please excuse my fans for me ... OK Dude ? " - Lucy
Consider this done, Lucy !
Extreme HamsterTracker™-Shouts to Annie
What a great suggestion !
We will make the switch as soon as a bedroom-clean is needed !
